Strategies for wellness in the workplace

About this Event

Working in the human services sector can feel demanding, overwhelming and downright exhausting. The pace of our world, the issues we are facing and the day to day pressures of balancing work and life can take its toll over time. Our ability to influence positive, long-term social change hinges on the resiliency and wellness of the people working in the sector.

In this session you will:

• Explore your personal and workplace dynamics that lead to stress, exhaustion and burnout

• Increase your understanding of the importance of the mind-body connection in managing stress

• Learn strategies to identify when you are overwhelmed and build resiliency for wellness

• Explore leadership approaches to nurturing a healing and wellness centred organizational culture

About the facilitator:

Tracy Knutson was raised in rural Saskatchewan and has had the privilege of working in many roles, primarily in the area of community and social development. Through these opportunities, she has learned from the best teachers – the amazing diversity of people in our communities who share the gifts of experience, wisdom and hope. Having worked 25 years in community and social development, Tracy brings a wealth of skills, experience and knowledge to her work. Her deep appreciation of the power of relationship and the strength of people to create change is central to her work and life.

Tracy serves as Executive Director with STOPS to Violence. In her ‘other life’, she supports groups and individuals to create paths to connection and wellness through facilitation, team building, coaching and somatic practice.
