The PD Committee is hosting a virtual book study over two dates - March 11, 2021 and May 13, 2021, 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

From the Ashes is a fascinating memoir about hope and resilience. It is the extraordinary story of Jesse Thistle, a Métis-Cree man from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan who refused to give up. As a toddler, Jesse was abandoned by his parents and briefly found himself in the foster-care system with his two brothers. Jesse Thistle is a recipient of the Governor Generals Academic Medal in 2016 and now teaches Métis Studies at York University in Toronto, where he lives.
