About this event
Participants in this session will be introduced to the 5 stages of conversation framework, often used by crisis responders, as a concrete practice tool in moving beyond transactional encounters with students towards a more holistic and relational model of advising. Through interactive group dialogue participants will be given the opportunity to: explore the 5 stages of conversation framework engage in self-reflective and critical self-reflective practice as they consider how they enact each stage in their encounters with students share strategies that are already being used, to deepen the relationship with students at each stage in the conversation framework, while considering new strategies that they may want to incorporate in efforts to advance advising practice. This session promises to be engaging, informative, reflective and most importantly playful and fun!
