Beans are a versatile, healthy and low-cost alternative to meat and other sources of protein. Tonight, Jill will show you how to transform beans in a variety of dishes. To start you will be served a Tuscan bean and sage crostini, followed by a Mexican black bean soup with queso fresco. Next, Jill will make a traditional dish from one of her favourite regions of France, a cassoulet from historic Carcassone. Finally, you will be shown how beans can even be incorporated into a delicious dessert with white bean and maple syrup pie.
