Fundamentals of Palliative Care Classes - Virtual 2020/2021

**In light of COVID-19 we are going to have our education sessions virtual on Zoom secured**
This 6 week (3 hour classes) standardized curriculum is based on A Model to Guide Hospice Palliative Care, 2002, specifically the Domains of Issues Associated with Illness and Bereavement is funded by the Central East LHIN. There is a $50.00 fee to cover the cost of your resource guide. This is non-refundable or transferable.

8. Grief, Loss and Managing Occupational Stress
“The Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care” is a prerequisite course for CAPCE (Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education - for RPNs, RNs, NPs, and other advanced care clinicians).
***Please note*** RPNs, RNs, NPs, and other advanced care clinicians wishing to take the CAPCE course are required to complete, free of charge, a two-week Enhanced Fundamentals course after the 6-week basic Fundamentals course.
Limit 25 participants per class. First come first serve!
These classes are facilitated by a local or regional professional with teaching experience and expertise in the field of Hospice Palliative Care. Classes are offered several times a year in different locations throughout Scarborough. For more information email PalliativeCareEducation@schcontario.ca.
Dates/Time to pick up resources once registered: Tues, Feb 16th - Fri, Feb 19th between 10am – 3pm

• Resources to pick up: Fundamentals of Palliative Care textbook and ESAS card
• Special Instructions or Requirements to pick up:
o Please kindly wear mask as per Infection Protection and Control (IPAC) guidelines and follow social distancing.
o Please present a valid government photo ID/signed photo ID for the Fundamentals resources to be provided to you.
o Please sign on the provided sheet once you receive the Fundamentals resources.
o Please note that you, as the participant, must come in person to get the Fundamentals resources. Another person cannot get the Fundamentals resources on your behalf unless there is valid reason or letter from you (with attached IDs).
