About this Event

The workshop includes a check-in, guided visualization, partner’s exercises, prompt, share circle and optional take-home project. No writing experience required.

Marn Norwich runs Vancouver Women’s Writing Courses, where she coaches women writers in all aspects of the writing process, from healing creative blocks through project initiation, structural planning and editorial consulting. She also facilitates weekly, online Writing as Healing for Women workshops and the Women's Healing + Empowerment Series.

Marn has a 25-year background as a writer, editor, consultant and workshop facilitator along with decades of experience as an energy therapist. The combination of counselling, consulting and intuitive energy work, when applicable, are what distinguish her coaching services. When she works with women on issues at both the conscious and energetic levels, shifts and epiphanies are frequent. Her work is woman-centred, trauma-informed and non-hierarchical.

Marn is the author of an award-wining poetry collection, Wildflowers at my doorstep (Karma press).

What women are saying about Marn's work:

“Without Marn, I would have given up, quit, walked away. My memoir is at 450 pages now, and I’m proud of it every time I read it! I could never repay Marn for the impact her coaching has had on my development as a writer.

Marn’s coaching has been a profound and magical experience for me. Our time together has been transformative — a huge turning point for me with regard to building confidence in myself as a writer. I chose Marn for her empathy and gentleness and found that we were aligned, that I could trust her with my writing. No matter what she says, it’s positive coming out of her mouth. Inquisitiveness and trustworthiness are her core qualities.

Our sessions inspired me to share my work with other writers, to grow an intimacy with my writing and expand what I’m willing to put on the page. I am now able to override my second-guessing and self-criticism.”

Cathy Wade, ICD.C, Vancouver, BC

“Something truly magical transpires through Marn's facilitation. She leads by example, responding thoughtfully to each contribution, holding space, and validating where we are in our healing journey. Her intuitive, attentive approach creates a nearly palpable sense of safety and connection in the room, transforming strangers into a circle of trust, support, and inspiration...Attending her workshops is easily one of the best things I've ever done for my well-being, for my love of writing, and for my sense of wonder and appreciation for women.”

Amanda Hobbs, Vancouver, BC

“If you are looking for a safe place to reveal yourself to yourself, in the gentle, accepting company of other women, through the medium of writing, expression, inspiration and meditation…this course is for you.

If you long for a compassionate, present, non-judgemental 'space-holding' witness… Marn is your facilitator.

And, if you are called to be a part of a strong, nurturing, empowering, uplifting circle of women, helping other women…let your voice ring out, it will be heard and welcomed.”
