Event description

Description

It is with pleasure that I invite you to join us for a one-day research symposium entitled: The Impact of Demographic Shift on Future of Work and Housing on November 17, 2017. This symposium is being held at the Scotiabank Theatre on Saint Mary’s University campus. The event will provide a platform for stakeholders to share their thoughts on how changing age distribution of population is affecting workplace and housing markets in Nova Scotia, what challenges are emerging for policy makers and communities, and how these challenges may be addressed. The event should be of interest to policymakers, policy practitioners, and academic researchers (including faculty and students). Similar events are being held in the other three Atlantic Provinces. Based on the proceedings of these events, ARGEIAD will prepare a report which will be made available to our stakeholders.

Our confirmed speakers include: Deputy Minister, Simon D’Entremont of the Nova Scotia Department of Seniors, Dr. Suzanne Cook of York University, Dr. Martha MacDonald of Saint Mary’s University and Dr. Karen Foster of Dalhousie University. More speakers are yet to be confirmed.
