Event description

Description

Jill Kooymans is a theatre practitioner from Hamilton, ON who focuses on bringing theatre into Ontario's correctional facilities. She founded Ontario Theatre and Rehabilitation through Arts in Corrections (OnTRAC) in 2016 and has since produced 4 productions in both men’s and women’s prisons. Through her work she has experienced the lack of visibility and support for queer communities in corrections and hopes to shine a light on this issue in this theatre based workshop. Using drama games and improv, she will guide discussions on how we can better support our incarcerated LGBTQ+ in our every day lives.
