Gender Analytics creates possibilities for high-impact innovation based on rich analytics, inclusive design and transformational leadership. The Gender Analytics: Possibilities (GA:P) conference brings together thought leaders and innovators from academia, the private sector, government, and non-profits to share learnings and capitalize on insights from intersectional gender-based analyses.

Gender Analytics is a way to understand how gender identity, Indigeneity, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, and other intersections can shape organizational risks, opportunities and impacts. While most people pigeon-hole gender equity as a question of diversity and inclusion inside organizations, this conference turns the tables to look at how inclusion can shape the design of our products, services and policies and create an expansive space for innovation and impact.

The GA:P conference will feature over 20 high caliber speakers covering the latest academic findings and industry innovations on topics, including:

  • Decolonizing data and design
  • Inclusive product and service design
  • Gender Analytics in financial services
  • Using a gender lens in sports analytics
  • Behavioural interventions for more inclusive government policy
  • Responsible AI and machine learning
  • Creating inclusive contracts: insights about the law

Attendees will build their skills by exploring case studies and techniques for uncovering hidden opportunities for innovation to grow markets and enhance social impact.

Three advanced smaller group workshops designed for people who want to take a deep dive in the “how-to” will be offered on the following day:

  • Gender Analytics for people from the business sector
  • Gender Analytics for government staff and policy analysts
  • Gender Analytics for members of the non-profit community

Institute for Gender and The Economy (GATE)

The Institute for Gender and the Economy (GATE) uses rigorous research to change the conversation on gender equality. We promote an understanding of gender inequalities and how they can be remedied – by people of all genders – in the world of business and in the broader economy. We think that by treating gender equality as an innovation challenge, we can generate new insights into making change.

TD Management Data and Analytics Lab (TD MDAL)

The TD Management Data and Analytics Lab (TD MDAL) is a central source of knowledge and expertise in data science, AI, and machine learning at the Rotman School of Management. The lab promotes the application of cutting-edge analytic tools in business through teaching and research. When deployed responsibly, advances in technology and the use of algorithms can generate key insights to help solve complex management issues.
