Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) Workshop
Event Information
About this Event
Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) is an analytical tool created by the Government of Canada to determine the impacts of our work on diverse groups of people. GBA+ takes an intersectional approach and includes the examination of sex, gender, Indigeneity, race, ethnicity, ability, age, language, culture, geographic location, etc. on your work. This two-hour interactive workshop will provide participants with a solid understanding of GBA+ and how to apply it effectively to engineering and infrastructure projects.
Participants in this workshop will be given a pre-course self-assessment questionnaire to consider individual biases and to prepare for the workshop. During the workshop, learning will be reinforced through interactive discussions, group work, and short videos while incorporating examples throughout.
Following the workshop, participants will also have access to six months of complimentary coaching. This coaching includes assistance in the implementation of GBA+, providing advice and reviewing materials, as well as responding to questions and supplying further research and resources as needed.
