Event description
Join us as we welcome Deborah Yedlin, Chancellor of the University of Calgary for a discussion on gender diversity in the energy sector.

About this Event

Join the MEA as we welcome Deborah Yedlin, Chancellor of the University of Calgary for a discussion on how women and men can work together to bring more women into the energy sector. The discussion will include what jurisdictions outside of Canada are doing to ensure gender diversity in the energy sector.

There are many great voluntary initiatives out there that try to address gender inequality but there is more work to be done. How do we move beyond voluntary initiatives and make change happen? Join us for a thought-provoking discussion that explores how to bring about more gender diversity in the energy sector.

Deborah Yedlin has been writing about business and politics for more than two decades, as a journalist for the Financial Post, Globe and Mail and Calgary Herald newspapers. In addition to her writing, she has been a regular commentator for CBC Radio and Television, and CTV since 1996. She brings a unique and informed perspective to her journalism which has addressed gender inequality in the Canadian energy sector and other topics ranging from economics, finance, politics, science, innovation and education – all with the intent to educate and inform her readers and listeners about topics important to the local, provincial and national communities.
