Event Information
About this Event
This session is being delivered by Catalyst and is being hosted by Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) through a generous donation by RBC Foundation.
We all have multiple identities that affect our life experiences, how we perceive the world around us, and how we are perceived by others. Our gender, race, and ethnicity intersect to shape the opportunities and challenges we face at work.
Planning for a post-COVID1-9 world, leaders—from CEOs to new managers—have recognized that work has changed in profound ways, and it’s never going back to the way it was. Uncertainty and fear are rampant. Social inequalities are magnified. Empathy and trust have become critical as physical distancing makes connecting across differences particularly challenging. Acknowledging and addressing this reality is key to creating inclusive workplaces.
In this session, we will cover:
• Gender, race and ethnicity & it's impact in the workplace
• Defining the future of work
• Strategies for a better workplace, including:
- leading inclusively through crisis ,
- tackling inequities ,
- connecting with empathy ,
- trusting your team and
- working remotely and flexibly
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm - Session Presentation
1:00 pm to 1:30 pm - Discussion and Q&A Time
