Event description

Description

Gender and Sexual Diversity Workshop for Doulas and Birthworkers

This half-day workshop will introduce you to the barriers that LGBTQI2S+ folks experience when navigating the health care system, with a focus on perinatal care.

You will learn about:
- definitions of sex, gender, sexual orientation, and more
- how to use inclusive language in your practice and why it matters
- the realities many folks face when trying to access inclusive care providers and services
- how you as a doula and birth worker may better support your gender and sexual diverse clients

If you are a birth or postpartum doula, birth or newborn photographer, childbirth
educator, offer lactation support, encapsulate placentas, are an L&D nurse, OB/GYN, or
midwife, or otherwise work in the field of pregnancy, birth, or postpartum care, this
workshop will be of benefit to you and your clients.

*DONA International contact hours are pending for this training*
