About this Event

General Admission

Your general admission includes access to the museum space in Stall 17 of the John Street Roundhouse for the day. Explore exhibits, discover our collection with self-guided kids activities, and climb aboard an 1896 wooden parlour car.

Temporary Exhibit: Toronto's Railways at War

Observe Remembrance Day at the Toronto Railway Museum with temporary exhibit Toronto’s Railways at War. Explore the role Toronto’s railways played during times of war, and then get up close to our 1944 “war engine”, Canadian Pacific No. 7020. Discover the important role these locomotives had that led rationing authorities to permit their continued construction throughout the Second World War. Toronto’s Railways at War is on display November 1-30.Current and retired Canadian Armed Forces members receive complimentary admission with proof of status.

Please Note: Museum admission is included in the cost of a timed tour ticket (Tales of the Rails) and you do not need to purchase additional admission. Browse guided tour tickets here. If you arrive after the allocated 30 minute time slot, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to enter the museum immediately if we have reached max capacity.

Safety

The safety and well-being of our visitors, volunteers, and museum staff are our highest priority. While we look forward to welcoming you back, additional health and safety precautions are in place. We ask that visitors stay home if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are considered to be in a high risk category. Before visiting, please use Ontario Health’s self-assessment tool available here.

All visits to the museum must be pre-book tickets to visit the museum and register for a guided tour. Timed ticketing will accommodate reduced visitor numbers and physical distancing.

We require all staff and visitors to wear a mask. City of Toronto By-Law 541-2020 requires all visitors to wear a non-medical mask or face covering if they are able. We also ask that visitors frequently wash or sanitize hands and maintain physical distancing inside and outside of the museum and on tours. We thank our visitors in advance for complying with these new modifications. Learn more about the ways we’re working to provide a safe museum experience here.
