UNA-Canada is proud to implement Generation SDG – Youth Action on the Sustainable Development Goals (Generation SDG). Generation SDG equips SDG Ambassadors, aged 15-25, to creatively address pressing community issues in Ottawa, Gatineau, Cornwall and Kemptville.
On February 20th 2021, the SDG Ambassadors will come together and showcase their service initiatives with great passion for the Sustainable Development Goals in a way where all local leaders and community supporters will be inspired to take action of their own.
Paving the path for a brighter and more sustainable future, it is clear to see that our community is in good hands. The Generation SDG Symposium will display the collaboration of dedicated young change-makers, community leaders, and local partners with the hopes of creating meaningful solutions for pertaining issues in Ottawa, Gatineau, Cornwall and Kemptville.

15:40 Six Simultaneous ambassador presentations: SDG series on People, Planet, Peace, Prosperity, Partnerships
16:20 Spoken Word Poetry- Two simultaneous sessions in English and French. Jamaal Jackson Rogers will be performing in English, while YAO will be performing in French.
16:35 Remarks by the Mayor of Cornwall, Bernadette Clement
16:50 Four simultaneous hands-on activities showcasing SDG initiatives in Gatineau, Cornwall, Kemptville and Ottawa
- SDG Scavenger Hunt facilitated by Rebecca Shams
Whether you know it or not, the SDGs are everywhere! Put on your explorer hat and join me for an epic Scavenger Hunt where you will be challenged to uncover the hidden SDG treasures all around you!

Amène du papier et un crayon, et pourquoi pas des crayons de couleur aussi! Viens écrire et/ou dessiner des lettres qui seront envoyées à des personnes qui ont été emprisonnées injustement pour avoir milité pour les droits humains. À la fin de l'atelier, tu n'auras qu'à prendre une photo de ton message, nous envoyer la photo, et nous l'enverrons par la poste pour toi! Tu peux écrire le message dans la langue de ton choix.
- Peer-Help Tips and Tricks facilitated by Christina Roy & Elietra Samuel
Ever wondered what you could do to help someone going through a hard time, but didn’t know how? This workshop will consist of an interactive activity on how to support your friend/peer in need and how-to use your listening skills. The Peer Help Centre will go over the topics of support and mentorship including the Mentoring for Youth Program (MYP).
