Description

In recent years, our ability to edit genes has been truly revolutionized with the advent of a new tool, the CRISPR/Cas system. This technique allows scientists to "cut and paste" genes in a faster and more cost-effective manner. In this talk, we will discuss how this type of gene editing works, its applications, and the ethics of gene editing.

Presented by Scichat and the Department of Immunology at the University of Toronto.

Event location: Beeton Hall, Toronto Reference Library. Drop in.
