Description

Genome Alberta, Genome Canada, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AAF), Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), The Canadian Beef Breeds Council (CBBC) and the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) would like to invite you to attend and participate in the Genomics and Agri-Food Sector Strategy (Livestock) Workshop. The purpose of this workshop day is to obtain industry input on what the priority research topics are to help refresh the livestock component of Genome Canada’s Agri-Food Sector Strategy, originally developed in 2013: https://www.genomecanada.ca/sites/genomecanada/files/sector/Agri_Food_EN.pdf

The morning session will feature speakers and discussions around the current and future directions of genomics research in the dairy, swine, and poultry sectors.

In the afternoon, the Canadian Beef Breeds Council (CBBC) will be holding their Technical Forum as part of the Canadian Beef Industry Conference (CBIC) and will focus on research priorities in the beef cattle industry. During the discussion the use of genetics and genomics in the beef sectors will also be covered. The Agenda for the morning and afternoon sessions can be found here: (Placeholder for link).

Attendance to the Agri-Food Sector Strategy Workshop and the CBBC Technical Forum is free but registration is required. Please indicate the appropriate (1 of 3) RSVP option when registering.
