About this event

Join us for a Live Online Info Session about our Gerontology course with instructor Alexandra Jackson, who will answer all of your questions live. Ashton College staff will also be available to advise and answer your questions about admissions and other general questions about the course.

The Gerontology course provides an orientation to the psychological and social changes that occur through adulthood and old age. Students will be introduced to basic theoretical models, research methods, and current information on the psychology of aging. A major goal is to contrast existing myths about adult development with the best available empirical evidence to separate myths from realities. Included is a practical emphasis on measures that may be used to successfully prepare for, or adapt to, the psychological changes of aging.

Meet the Instructor: Alexandra Jackson

Alexandra Jackson graduated from Western University with her MSc. in Aging and Health in the fall of 2019. Additionally, she is a researcher for Niagara College working on health education and curriculum development initiatives. Alexandra lives in Ontario and in her free time she enjoys playing soccer, sitting by the campfire at the cottage, and spending time with family.
