By 2023 there are predicted to be 27.1 million social media users in Canada, making social networks the ideal platform to engage with and influence customers. That also means that written and visual content is everywhere. Anyone can post on Facebook, tweet on Twitter, upload to Instagram or publish on a website. What sets ordinary material apart from engaging, impactful content that resonates with customers, differentiates brands and drives sales? A solid strategy. 

We’re going to show you how to design and build fresh, shareable content to optimize campaigns and grasp the importance of content strategy and planning. You will leave the workshop with an understanding of how to promote content and the importance of paid promotion for relevant, highly shareable content.

 Workshop Topics

 - Review of social media basics (the top platforms, who is on them, do you need to be there too)

 - Building your content calendar (branding and keeping it consistent, messaging, your online voice, content themes, building a one month calendar, importance of visual content, importance of hashtags and where/how to use them, time saving techniques for content marketing)

- Brief overview of Facebook ads

Each attendee will receive a workbook to use during and after the learning session.

Who should attend?

This is an introductory course about social media and content marketing of value to all small business owners, start-up entrepreneurs, and marketing coordinators.  

Although introductory, it is not intended for those with little or no experience or knowledge of social media, but to everyone who seeks to better understand how they may generate benefits to their business using content effectively over multiple social platforms.
