Getting to Net Zero Through Climate Finance

About this event

The climate change crisis has mobilized governments, the international community, private firms, organizations, and individuals to take immediate action against global warming, but in many cases, this requires a shift to more expensive practices and technologies. Fortunately, governments have pledged up to $ 100 Bn towards this goal under the Paris Agreement, and all over the world, investors and lenders have made ESG (environmental, social, governance) a critical factor in their investment decisions. In the US, the largest banks have pledged to allocate around $ 4 Tr towards sustainable, climate, and green efforts over the next decade. This session will discuss how climate finance will enable us to achieve the goal of net-zero carbon emissions: why the pledges, how they will flow to end-users, and why ESG is critical to accessing these funds.
