About this Event

Rapid technological change means Canadian workers need new skills to succeed. This is especially true for mid-career employees aged 37 to 54, who make up 57 per cent of the Canadian workforce, according to research by Deloitte Bersin.

WEtech Alliance and a group of community partners have joined forces to help ensure Windsor-Essex workers, organizations and communities continue to succeed as technology transforms the workplace.

Please join us and our partners Workforce WindsorEssex and Communitech for an informal conversation on what employers, employees, education and government can do to build a community of practice to help future-proof the workplace.

Employers, employees, HR professionals and members of academia and governments are encouraged to attend.

  • How careers and workplaces are being redefined;
  • The potential implications for communities and regions; and
  • Case Study: Waterloo Region Future of Work & Learning pilot.

Simon Chan , VP, Talent Academy and Future of Work, Communitech.

Founded in 1997 by a group of entrepreneurs committed to making Waterloo Region a global innovation leader, Communitech is a public-private innovation hub that supports a community of more than 1,500 companies — from startups to scale-ups to large global players.

Simon’s team supports Communitech’s member organizations with their talent attraction, retention and learning & development needs. They are responsible for developing and executing on a Future of Work & Learning strategy with community stakeholders (e.g. industry, academia, and government) starting in Waterloo region with a vision for amplifying to other communities across Canada and globally.
