Event description

Description

The third and final ride of this series will be hosted by Chuck Sutton, owner of Ride East, and the BMan, owner of Giant Halifax. The goal of the ride is to provide a welcoming environment for beginner MTB riders. The terrain will be suitable for both Beginner and Intermediate riders, and guidance and instruction will be provided by Chuck. Once again, this ride is the only ride designed for both Beginner and Intermediate riders in our series, so we expect a big turnout for this event. Register early!

Ride 1/ July 4 - Shubie Park (Beginner)

Ride 2/ July 11 - Cob Trails (Intermediate)

Ride 3/ July 25 - Empire Trails (Beginner and Intermediate)

Registered participants will be provided with the meet-up location and any other need-to-know details prior to the ride via email. Click here to learn more about Ride East. For a detailed list of equipment to bring, click here.

Coles Notes

When?
Wednesday July 25th, 7:00 pm.

Where?
This ride is set as our only Begnner and Intermediate level ride of the series, and it will start at the Empire Trails parking lot just off of Highway 202, in Gore. Please see the map. The Empire Trails consist of 20+ kms of wonderful flowy singletrack trails. You won't want to miss this ride!

Why?
We want to get more people on bikes, and help new MTB riders learn how to ride the types of trails HRM has to offer.

What Do I Need?
To participate in the MTB ride, you will need a mountain bike in good working order, a spare tube and inflation device in case of a flat, a positive and respectful attitude towards others in the group. Helmets are mandatory for all rides. Please have a look at Chuck's equipment list above for more details if you haven't already. You will need to be a BNS general member which costs $20 and also register as a Giant Halifax Cycling Club member (which is absolutely free.) Registration must be done online here. Chuck will also ask you to sign a "Ride East" waiver at the trailhead for insurance purposes.

Once you have paid for your BNS membership, and registered for free as a Giant Halifax Cycling Club member, please register at the top of this page get your ticket. Please note: If you do not register as a BNS general member, and as a Giant Halifax Cycling Club member, and have an Eventbrite ticket, for liability reasons, you will not be able to participate in this ride.

Both Chuck and I look forward to meeting you, and riding with you. We hope to see all of you soon.
