Event description

Description

Glass is everywhere in our lives, and has industrial and artistic qualities that can't be beat. Come discover in one-on-one instruction what glass is made of, how to melt, color, and sculpt it, and how the equipment works as you learn to make marbles and jewelry! We'll also talk about glass items you interact with on a daily basis, and about new technological progress made in this exciting field.

At the end of the class you will have made a colored marble and a small glass pendant. You'll learn to control flame chemistry, use various tools to shape hot glass, and apply up to three types of coloring. Members will also be certified to use the equipment on their own.

You should wear close fitting natural fiber clothing and close-toed shoes, and long hair should be held back. Jewelry on your hands and wrists should stay at home. Bring a water bottle too, as it will be hot and dry!
