The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is an annual event where participants (jammers) gather at physical and virtual locations around the world to create games over the course of one weekend. The event promotes learning, experimentation, and collaboration through the medium of games in a safe and welcoming environment. The theme for the games is announced at the start of the event and jammers have until Sunday afternoon to complete their games. The GGJ is not a competition and is focused on fostering new friendships and increasing confidence in aspiring game developers and creating opportunities within local communities. The event was the starting point for many game developers who have turned it into a successful career in game development. The Regina event has been running since 2016, and are pleased to announce a return to in-person attendance. We will support remote attendees, but strongly recommend in-person attendance during the opening ceremonies to aid in team building, and request at least one member from each group on site for presentations. Meals will be provided (lunch Saturday, supper Saturday, lunch Sunday) with snacks and drinks throughout. Thanks to our sponsors, SaskInteractive and Innovation Place.
