Lee Kitchen Bio

As experienced Innovation Catalyst practitioner, Lee leads a variety of businesses to different thinking using a structured, proven creative problem-solving process. He has worked on many creative challenges, across many different kinds of businesses (consumer products, B2B, manufacturing, leisure and travel) driving the teams to novel thinking, different ways of doing business and innovative results. There are three realms he can definitely help with:

Inventor - Using a variety of tools from the Creative Problem Solving and Design Thinking world, Lee helps business get "unstuck" on a variety of business challenges helping collaborative teams understand and define what they are solving for, immersing themselves and be inspired by the world of their consumer or "end-user", collaboratively creating a plethora of ideas plus help develop those ideas into viable solutions.

Provocateur - Lee helps collaborative teams get inspired and have the stimulus they need for creating innovative ideas by hosting trend presentations, provoking the status quo using a variety of stimulus both linear and abstract within ideation session, helping teams get to that "Third 3rd" of ideas.

Fusionist and Culture Change Agent - As a 10-year practitioner of CPS, Lee also trains groups in creative problem solving and creativity behaviors to help teams and businesses learn and keep a culture of open creativity and innovation. His presentation, Business as Unusual, is an example of showcasing creativity tools and behaviors that help drive culture change in any kind of organization.
Lee is formerly a 32-year Walt Disney Company cast member and his professional roots are in front-line Operations and Guest Relations, brand management, marketing strategy and special event/project management. Lee holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Marketing and several certificates in creative problem-solving processes from leaders and pioneers of the craft. When he's not helping others solve creative challenges, he can usually be found cruising the river on his boat, aptly titled "The Kitchen Kluster", watching any and all Star Wars and/or Marvel movies (repeatedly), playing with his two dogs, Buddy (a yellow lab) and Gunner (a chocolate lab/husky mix) or having fun socializing with friends and family.

Josh Mahaney

After attaining a Master of Science in Creative Studies, studying the science of creative problem solving and innovation, Josh Mahaney started working for Disney Theme Park Destinations in a group called Creative Inc. training and facilitating Marketers, Imagineers, and Studio executives through creativity & innovation process & projects for multiple years. He then worked at Disney Design Group serving Theme Park Merchandise, creating a new hybrid creativity & design thinking process for their Research & Development division. That process went on to revolutionize the approach to compelling immersive retail experiences in the theme parks and hotels around Walt Disney World. Now, Josh works as an Innovation Catalyst for the Orlando Magic at the NBA's first Innovation Lab (and one of the first in professional sports) training and facilitating teams through the d.school's Design Thinking model among other creativity tools & techniques. Being able to test creative ideas and prototypes shoulder-to-shoulder with fans is incredibly rewarding, and Josh loves how creativity brings people together in all walks of life. In his free time and in the pursuit of finding creative inspiration, you will find Josh at the Cape for a rocket launch, at the cinema adding to his ever-expanding film knowledge, or lifting, climbing, biking, and generally soaking in the sunny outdoors that make up Florida.
