Event description

Description

Nova Scotia has the highest rate of human trafficking incidents in Canada, with statistics showing there are 2.1 victims for every 100,000 people. Join us on April 14th, 2020 at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 for Human Trafficking: Myths and Misconceptions - What we can do to make a difference.

Our guest speaker is Malak Sidhy from Meeting Professionals Against Human Trafficking, an organization dedicated to bringing awareness to those in the industry of the issues happening in our venues, at our conferences, events, and sporting events. She will be discussing the unfortunate truth of human trafficking, it's connection to the event industry, and how we are able to get involved in helping to prevent it.

This year's Global Meetings Industry Day will begin with round table networking sessions discussing several relevant and trending topics.
