We need a new lens to evaluate how the world’s shifting Global Risks and Trends are affecting us and our organizations, and how we should prepare for the changes to come. In this workshop, Ms. Tullo will highlight some of those risks and trends with an application of the GRAFT framework to apply to your organization’s strategy and the assumptions that underlie that strategy.

Join Lois Tullo, Executive in Residence, Global Risk Institute and Stephen Hart, previous Chief Risk Officer, Scotiabank on May 10th as they discuss the changing patterns of global risks and trends affecting organizations today. Lunch will be provided.



Speakers:

Lois Tullo, Executive in Residence, Global Risk Institute

Lois Tullo was appointed Executive in Residence in January 2017. She is currently and has been teaching risk management and financial services at the Schulich School of Business for the past 20 years at the executive, MBA, and undergraduate level. Her most recent whitepaper was entitled “Risk Management – Canadian Best Practices, How did they get there?” Schulich has awarded her the John Peace Prize for outstanding contribution to teaching.

Ms. Tullo is currently the Chair of Urban Promise, Jlt & Associates, BOD for The Richview Residence Foundation, and former BOD for Jameson Bank, The Boulevard Club, and the Girl Guides of Canada. She has been chair of both the finance and HR committees. She is a Chartered Accountant/CPA, and has articled with Clarkson Gordon Toronto (E&Y) and PWC in Calgary. Ms. Tullo has an EMBA from The Ivy School of Business, and a B.Comm from the University of Saskatchewan.




Stephen Hart, Previous Chief Risk Officer, Scotiabank

As Chief Risk Officer for Scotiabank, Stephen Hart was responsible for enterprise-wide risk management at Scotiabank, including credit, market and operational risk. He was appointed to this position in September 2013 and will be retiring from the bank April 13, 2017.

Stephen joined Scotiabank in 1978 as part of a newly created Chairman's staff unit, and has held a variety of senior positions in the United States and Canada in both origination and credit adjudication in corporate lending. He was a Relationship Manager based in Chicago in the early 1980s, and headed up the Corporate Banking unit in Ontario in the 1990s. Since 1999, he has been in Global Risk Management; initially as Senior Vice President, Corporate Credit, and then as Senior Vice President & Head, Credit Risk, before his appointment as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer in October 2008.

Stephen has an engineering degree (BApSc) in geophysics from the University of Toronto and an MBA in finance from McMaster University. He has been a Director of non-profit organizations.
