Go Stamps Go! A Fan History of the Calgary Stampeders

About this Event

As Calgary prepares to host the 2019 Grey Cup, the Southern Alberta Pioneers and their Descendants are excited to present local historian and researcher Shelly McElroy’s riveting talk – Go Stamps Go! A Fan History of the Calgary Stampeders.

From Mounties playing rugby in front of the Deane House, to a visit to Mewata Stadium by King George and Queen Elizabeth in the Depression. From an undefeated first season for the Stampeders and the Grey Cup Train, football, the Grey Cup, and the team we love have a long and treasured legacy in Calgary.

Whether you've been a Stamps fan for fifty years or don't know the difference between a snap and a spike, there will be something for everyone to learn and enjoy.
