Going Coastal – a journey around the whole coastline of Britain
Come along and enjoy a tour around the whole coastline of Britain. Ian McBeath will be making a video presentation on a journey he made around the whole coastline of Britain – “driving by whatever road was closest to the ocean” – a distance of 5000 miles. You will see not only Britain from its coast, but hear a short history of Britain, and how it has been shaped and influenced by the many invaders, who came either in force or in peace and their links to the present day. You will meet Monarchs, Celtic Priests, Vikings, smugglers and some of the ordinary people who he encountered on his journey.
English cheeses and (non-English) wine will be served. Volunteers with “Serving It Right” to help with the bar would be appreciated.
Guests are very welcome. Members $10; non-members $15 (Any excess of proceeds over costs will be donated to Junior Sailing).
