About the Prairie Saxophone Initiative
The Prairie Saxophone Initiative (PSI) is a classical saxophone duo formed by Canadian artists Chinley Hinacay and Matthew Robinson. The group was established with the goal of elevating the standard of saxophone performance and pedagogy throughout Canada. PSI accomplishes this by way of commissioning modern works for the instrument, creating a broader community, and promoting opportunities for developing artists.
As part of their 2022 season, PSI is collaborating with Vancouver-based composer Ashley Seward to create a new work for 2 saxophones and piano. The premier is set to performed in Spring of 2023.
