Description

Good Grief! Nature Walking Through Grief and Loss

Research has revealed how nature teaches us to grieve. Our 8-week program is a collaborative effort between Mount Royal Universtiy, Alberta Parks and the Friends of Fish Creek; it offers those experiencing grief and loss a gentle, accessible guided walk through nature to observe, to chat, to enjoy fresh air and the natural world. If you wish to gather with us at a local coffee shop for further conversation, stay for a bit longer!

Meeting place is weekly at the Friends of Fish Creek office (the Cookhouse), in the Bow Valley Ranch area of Fish Creek Provincial Park, on Mondays from 7-8pm

Good Grief will run from May 8 to June 26, 2017. Registration will hold your place for all 8 sessions.

Cost is $25 and includes a complimentary copy of the book “Calgary’s Best Walks” by Lori Beattie

As this is an outdoor program, please ensure that you dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes; while this walk will be on paved pathways, there are places where the pavement may be uneven.

Poor weather or other circumstances beyond our control may necessitate a session being cancelled; we will do our best to inform you within a few hours of the session start time via email. If you have questions as to whether or not the session will go ahead, please contact the Friends at 403-238-3841.

Finally, if you have any mobility issues that could impede your participation in this program, please get in touch with us prior to May 8th.
