Dr. Abe Oudshoorn was named to the Mayor’s New Year’s Honour List 2021 for his commitment to ensuring Londoners have access to affordable and dignified housing. Having worked as a nurse with people experiencing homelessness, Dr. Oudshoorn’s research focuses on health equity through housing stability. He is past chair of the London Homeless Coalition, co-founder and Managing Editor of the International Journal on Homelessness, and awarded the 2016 Western Humanitarian Award for his work on ending homelessness, and call to respond to the housing crisis in the City of London.
Dr. Javeed Sukera is a physician, educator, activist, and scientist. Dr. Sukhera's interdisciplinary research program explores novel approaches to stigma reduction and implicit bias recognition and management in health professionals. His research has been published in high impact journals and he is routinely interviewed by local and national media for his expertise on equity, stigma, and bias. Dr. Sukhera is also involved in numerous committees and councils at local, national, and international levels. He is Chair of the London Police Services Board and a former member of the Association of American Medical Colleges Board of Directors. He is also Past President of the Ontario Psychiatric Association.
