Event description
Workshop hosted by City staff for Neighbourhood/Resident Association or Group Coordinators or Members to discuss decision-making in Toronto.

About this Event

If you are a member or coordinator of a neighbourhood or resident network, association or group, you are invited to participate in an upcoming City consultation. The City is exploring the relationships between neighbourhood associations, and their relationship with City Council, and how they participate in local and city-wide decision-making.

City Council's Special Committee on Governance was established to explore the impacts of a smaller Council on the City's governance. In recent months, City staff have held meetings and surveyed the public to better understand the public's perspective on the City's decision-making structures and processes.

The Committee asked staff to reach out to neighbourhood associations (local, geographically focused groups such as neighbourhood coalitions, groups and partnerships, organizations that receive City grants to support community cohesion, ratepayer groups and resident associations) to hear their views on these recent changes to Council.

Visit www.toronto.ca/TOgovernance for more information.

Please note the City is requesting participants RSVP in advance due to meeting room space constraints.
