Event description

Description

Thoughtful, well-reasoned, well-designed governance has a significant impact on the ability of a non-profit to serve its members and beneficiaries.

Creating ‘good governance’ requires intentionality, perseverance and knowledge. And for volunteer boards, this can feel overwhelming.

In this three-hour workshop, Ann Moskow and Claire Rettie will address your most pressing governance questions. Each society starts this journey from a different place and all societies face common challenges.

To address your concerns, we’d like each of you to send your society’s TOP FIVE GOVERNANCE QUESTIONS to us one week in advance of the workshop. We’ll arrange the questions thematically and at the workshop, we’ll address them in the order of the priority that you and the other participants set. The responses will be in the context of the BC Societies Act and you’ll have the opportunity to learn and share with the each other.

This workshop will help you set up your governance so that it is both well-grounded and best suited to your organization’s culture and capacity.
