Wetland Ecosystems

Wetlands are some of the world’s most productive ecosystems. Spend time with Dr. Marie-Claude Roy, a wetland expert and all around super scientist, to find out why she’s so passionate about marshes, swamps, bogs and fens. Explore the types of wetlands found in Alberta, their important values and unique biodiversity. Build confidence in teaching the Wetland Ecosystems unit and get student’s excited about the natural world around them. Classroom activities and useful resources will be provided along with a whole 'slough' of fresh ideas.
