Exploring Liquids + Buoyancy Boats - 5:30pm

Are you looking for experiment ideas that will make a splash? Would you like to sink deeper into understanding the nature of liquids? Have your own Eureka! moment as you investigate the connection between density, fluid displacement and buoyancy. Ed Kusmirski, a passionate engineer and educator, will guide you through exciting hands-on demonstrations and share ideas that will bring confidence to your teaching.

Small Crawling & Flying Animals - 7:00pm

In Calgary for the first time, Dr. Jeffrey Newton, biologist and science outreach specialist, is here to share his passion for small creatures. Focusing on invertebrates found in your backyard; learn about their special characteristics, what they need to survive, where they fit in the food chain and which ones are helpful or harmful to humans. Included will be ideas for finding and caring for live specimens in your classroom.
