A one-of-a-kind learning event for Grade 2 Teachers with science education specialist and dynamic presenter, Dr. Jeffrey Newton.

Registration + Light Dinner - 5:30pm

Magnetism - 6:00pm

Presenting an ALL NEW magnetism teacher workshop! Learn about the mysteries of magnets and discover innovative ways to teach hypothesis testing, polarity and "magnetization". Leave with hands-on activities for finding magnetic strength, building a compass and exploring the invisible magnetic field.

Small Crawling & Flying Animals - 7:15pm

There are far more small animals than there are big ones. One could say, it's the little critters that rule the world! Focusing on invertebrates found in your backyard; learn about their special characteristics, what they need to survive, where they fit in the food chain and which ones are helpful or harmful to humans. Including ideas for finding and caring for live specimens in your classroom.
