Event description

Description

Registration + Light Dinner - 5:30pm

Trees & Forests - 6:00pm

Look at trees and forests through a new lens and you might be surprised by what you see. Join Chris Klitbo, forest technology professor and wildfire expert, to explore the issue of forest fire from multiple perspectives. Investigate fire’s connection to forest values and the impact on wildlife and human users. This workshop will also include hands-on activities for identifying Alberta’s trees & shrub species and ideas for exploring the traditional uses of these plants.

Air & Aerodynamics / Flight - 7:30pm

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s your Air & Aerodynamics lesson plans taking off. We are thrilled to have Daryl Chichak, STEM specialist and former Edmonton Catholic Schools science consultant, host this hands-on workshop. Daryl will offer simple techniques for engaging students and developing their science understanding. Start by building the foundations of physics and then make fun connections to flight. You will leave with ideas and resources that are sure to soar.
