Event description

Description

In this workshop participants will learn to dye gradient (or ombré) yarn. We'll use two different application techniques to explore both monochromatic and colour-shift gradients. All materials are provided for this one-day workshop and you'll go home with 1 full skein and 6 mini-skeins of your own hand-dyed yarn.

ANNOUNCEMENT: We're thinking more about building our community of dyers. You can help us out by completing this survey https://goo.gl/forms/QxJS2D8UvG3kebaB3

This workshop is intended for participants with some experience dyeing, and builds on the skills introduced in our Intro to Yarn Dyeing workshop. It is suitable for ages 14 and up. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and old clothes (that they won't mind if they get stained).

About the instructor:

Debbie Sullivan enjoys working with textiles of all kinds, and has specialized in hand-dyeing yarn through her business Sweet Paprika Designs, where she has also taught a variety of dyeing workshops over the past 5 years. She studied Design for the Theatre at Concordia University, and still enjoys putting her dye skills to use in creating stage costumes on occasion as well.
