The Montreal Branch of the UNF is proud to present a grand concert on this important occasion at its beautiful concert hall (405 Fairmount West) on Saturday, November 26th at 7:30pm. The fourth Saturday of every November also marks the Holodomor Memorial Day which will be acknowledged at this event by a special performance.

This unique and diverse concert will feature music of various genres: classical, opera, and folk. The UNF is thrilled to welcome the star Ukrainian-Canadian soprano from the Metropolitan Opera, Andriana Chuchman who will perform Ukrainian arias by Mykola Lysenko from Taras Bulba, songs by Shamo and Kos-Anatolsky, as well as the famous aria Un bel di vedremo from Puccini’s Madama Butterfly commemorating the 150th anniversary of the great Ukrainian soprano Solomiya Krushelnytska who made the opera famous.

A regular perform at New York’s famed Metropolitan Opera, Ms. Chuchman received her training from the School of Music at the University of Manitoba, and is an alumna of the Ryan Opera Center at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program.

Renowned Ukrainian-Canadian violinist Carissa Klopoushak, Artistic Director of Ottawa’s Chamberfest and violinist at the National Arts Centre Orchestra, will perform works by Myroslav Skoryk and Anna Pidgorna. Carissa Klopoushak has made a name for herself as a curious, creative, and versatile violinist. A charismatic and engaging performer, Carissa's playing has been described as the complete package of sensitive musicianship and effortless technique.

All the soloists in the first half of the concert will be accompanied by the famous Ukrainian pianist, Serhiy Salov. Residing in Montreal, Salov has performed with the best orchestras and conductors in the world, such as Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Orchestre classique de Montréal, Berlin Symphony, Tokyo Symphony, Ukrainian National Orchestra, London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and several others.

The second half of the concert will feature a duo from Lviv, vocalist Krystyna Andronatiy and pianist Dmytro Andronatiy. This husband-and-wife team immigrated to Canada at the start of the war on Ukraine. The UNF is thrilled to present them in beloved Ukrainian songs such as “Oy ne svity misyachenku”, “Ya pidu v daleki hory”, “Yak tebe ne lybuty”, and “Oy, vershe miy vershe” by composers such as Lysenko, Ivasiuk and Vesolovsky. Organizers of this concert, Taras Kulish and Nadia Demko, as well as the entire UNF team, look forward to welcoming you to this grand evening celebrating Ukrainian culture and music.

Entrance for members of the UNF is $20, and non-members $30. The event will be FREE for all Ukrainian new immigrants (with a copy of CUAET papers).

Please note that purchased tickets are NONREFUNDABLE.
