Get your arts career off the ground with this new foundational workshop series. Each workshop will be held in English with workbooks available in French and English, facilitators will answer questions in both French and English.


Grant & Proposal Writing Basics

It takes more than winning ideas to win a proposal. Learn how to write thoughtful proposals, tips for writing successful grant applications.


About the Presenter

Victoria Steele

Ms. Steele is Executive Director of AOE Arts Council and has over 35 years’ experience managing arts organizations at the local and national level, including 19 years at the National Arts Centre. Ms. Steele is also a freelance arts management consultant and part-time professor of Theatre management and Career Management at UOttawa.

Cassandra Olsthoorn

Ms. Olsthoorn is Program Manager at AOE Arts Council and has 8 years experience in developing and growing programs and services, including the ARTicipate Grant Program; the community-engaged artist in residence program, Art Place and Neighbourhood Arts; Young Arts Leaders Collective; and is a key organizer of the Artpreneur Ottawa Conference.

Au sujet de la formatrice

Victoria Steele

Madame Steele est directrice générale du Conseil des Arts AOE et elle possède plus de 35 ans d’expérience dans la gestion d’organismes artistiques locaux et nationaux, dont 19 ans au Centre national des Arts. Madame Steele est également une consultante indépendante en gestion des arts et elle enseigne la gestion du théâtre et la gestion de carrière, à temps partiel à l’université d’Ottawa.
