Description

GRANTS 101: where to find them & how to write them
with Ashley Hartley, P1 Director of Marketing & Fund Development

Grants are tough - there are a lot of rejections before you ever hear an acceptance. But with our Grants 101 workshop, you will learn what is available for creators in Alberta, how to write a grant, and best practices to ensure you're submitting a grant worth looking at.

ABOUT ASHLEY HARTLEY

Hartley is the Director of Marketing and Fund Development for Panel One Comics Society. She’s a comics enthusiast, scholar, marketer and fundraiser (just to name a few). Hartley is the founder of Emerald & Navy, a new consultant company working on marketing and fund development for over 12 organizations throughout Victoria, Calgary and Winnipeg. During the day she works at SAIT and gets paid to play on cranes, weld dinosaurs and manage apprentices – at night she hunkers down to write grants for Panel One. With 10 years of grant writing experience, Hartley has seen over $177,000 in grants go towards arts-based organizations and projects.
