Event description

Description

In the past, we feared totalitarian political regimes: Orwell's 1984 is a prime example. Dystopian literature today reflects a change in the source of our greatest fears: Big Government has been replaced with global catastrophe or Big Business.

Presented by York University Associate Professor, Allan Weiss, scholar and creative writer.

The Great Books Lecture series, made possible through a gift from the Ann Thoburn Fund, offers insights into classic works that change the way we see, think and feel about our world.
