President and CEO at Danby Appliance and Chairman at DDE Media

Keys To Successful Implementation

Jim started a computer distribution company, EMJ Data, from the trunk of his car in 1979. With a great team he built the company up to $350,000,000 in sales and sold it to SYNNEX in September 2004. He was SYNNEX Chairman until 2009, growing sales from $800,000,000 to $2 billion.

Jim has long had an interest in early stage technology businesses and was on the Board of Research in Motion (RIM) / BlackBerry for 13 years before they went public.

Jim is also the author of two management books, Time Leadership and Zero to $2Billion. In response to the global refugee crisis in 2015, Estill took his private sector expertise and a personal donation of over $1 million and created a volunteer organizational structure to ensure that 50 Syrian families arriving in Guelph settle successfully.
