Event description

Description

Douglas College welcomes the community to join students, alumni, faculty and staff to collectively imagine how we move from good to better with on and off campus green initiatives through education, collaboration and action.

Students will lead small group dialogue sessions on a variety of topics related to the environment and sustainability. We’ll hear about what’s happening at Douglas on this front and how students and one young professional are making a difference on their campuses, and more broadly in the community. Speakers include Sterling Hillman and Jash Kaur (Douglas College students), Tesicca Truong (SFU student) and Kareen Wong (BC Council for International Cooperation).

We’ll generate ideas for action and encourage participants to take steps towards creating change, to build on what is positive around us and to inspire campus and community policy.

This event will take place in the concourse at Douglas’ New Westminster campus on Friday, March 31, 1 to 3:30 pm and is free and open to the public. Registration opens at 12:45 pm. Refreshments and a light lunch will be available at this time.

Other activities include a screening of The Clean Bin Project: documentary film on the Ominvex in the concourse, 10 to 11:30am and from noon to 1 pm, enjoy music in the concourse by Douglas College students and their band, Martin Grice.
