About this event

Let's get together! After so much online caring and sharing together over the past two years, we want to invite you to the Groundswell space for an in-the-flesh gathering for all you members of the Groundswell community.

Can't join in person? Hop into the online version of the gathering from 5:30-6:30pm PT in Groundswell's cozy, virtual living room. (Choose this option when you register and we'll send you the link.)

Whether you've taken Groundswell's Leadership for Social Change course sometime over the last two years or joined our membership community as an alumni of our social venture incubator program or been invited to speak at one of our events, this is a chance to get to know other like-minded and like-hearted Groundswell community members and the Groundswell team better.

We encourage you to reach out to your peers to coordinate your visit timing. We've made this event open house style in order to be as COVID safe as we can be. Staggered visits will allow us to make sure we can properly distance and keep the space sanitized.

Single serve snacks, clean mugs, and warm drinks will be available, to keep the gathering as safe as possible while keeping you nourished. Feel free to bring your own reusable mug.

COVID-19 Safety

Double vaccination is required to attend. Please email a screenshot/image of your vaccination passport to hello@groundswellschool.com with "Vaccine Passport" in the subject line.

Masks are required in the building and in the Groundswell space when you are not drinking or eating. Hand sanitizer and extra masks are available on site.

Land and Location

Groundswell is situated on the stolen and occupied territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlil̓wətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We humbly follow their leadership towards decolonization and Indigenous sovereignty. Groundswell's space is in the Sun Wah BCA building in the Chinatown and Downtown Eastside neighbourhoods of so called Vancouver, a neighbourhood shared by many different communities that is at the heart of many social justice movements.

Accessibility

Groundswell is located in a wheelchair accessible building. In the lobby, there is a ramp to the elevators, and we are located on the 4th floor. Doors are 89cm / 35" wide. Washrooms are wheelchair accessible and gender neutral.

Organized by

Are you ready to radically reimagine how you work? Groundswell provides alternative education that centers its students' lived experience, challenges harmful systems, and builds collective power to change the status quo.
