Make Whistler the smartest, most connected resort destination in the world. The work you do over the two-day hackathon could end up implemented by the City of Whistler to make this resort a global showcase for IoT innovation and cities of the future.
The city of Whistler is your sandbox for innovation. Over 2 days, designers, developers, project managers and engineers will collaborate with restaurateurs, civic administrators, hoteliers, shop keepers, and resort operations to make Whistler the most connected resort destination in the world.
Accolades & Recognition
Teams will have the opportunity to demo their prototypes to an audience of GROW Conference attendees, Silicon Valley investors, and tech super stars from both sides of the border.
FIRST PLACE - The winners of GROW Hackathon receive $10,000 in cash, sponsored by TELUS. The team will also have a spot in the Wavefront Venture Accelerator Program for 6 months (value of $12,000). Not only that, but they get the opportunity to network with GROW Conference's very-important-people at the invite-only VIP Dinner (7:30pm-9:30pm) and then head out to celebrate the victory at the Official GROW After Party (9:00pm-11:30pm).
SECOND PLACE - Tourism Whistler is offering a Whistler Prize Pack (value of $11,043) to the silver team . This includes a private SUV round-trip from Vancouver to Whistler, five nights in two two-bedroom suites, a Scandinavian bath experience, Superfly ziplining, a lunch tour around Whistler, and even more (Full details). Not only that, but they have access to the Official GROW After Party (9:00pm-11:30pm), partying at Buffalo Bills in Whistler Village with all of the other GROW Conference attendees.
THIRD PLACE - Time to celebrate! After 33 hours of hard work, Guusto Gifts is buying a round of drinks at Milestones (value of $40) and then the third place winners head down to the Official GROW After Party (9:00pm-11:30pm), partying at Buffalo Bills in Whistler Village with all of the other GROW Conference attendees.
PRODUCT PRIZE - RECON INSTRUMENTS / OAKLEY - Teams developing on the Recon platform using Oakley goggles are eligible to win four Snow2-equipped Oakley Airwaves!
PRODUCT PRIZE - MOJIO - Teams that utilize the Mojio API are eligible to win a year of service AND unlimited access to their developer evangelist, Govind Dandekar.

Sorry! Tickets to this event is non-refundable.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, it is! This may be a good alternative if you are unable to attend the event.
How many people are allowed on a team? Can I bring my own team?
Teams can be pre-formed in any configuration or created during Day 1's Team Formation time. There is a maximum of 4 people per team.
