Event description

Description

The Cowichan Watershed Board brings you this FREE introductory workshop on low flow irrigation systems.

Irrigation specialist and trainer Karen Hounsome will discuss how we can better manage our summer water needs for lawns and gardens, as we adjust to our region's changing climate. In this session, we will discuss various micro-drip system components, installation, and provide controller scheduling and maintenance tips. This will be an interactive session with time for your questions.

Pre-registration on Eventbrite is required as seats are limited.

Karen Hounsome is certified by the Irrigation Industry Association of B.C. (IIABC) in Golf Irrigation Design, Commercial Irrigation Design and Water Auditing. She is also a Past President of the IIABC and currently serves on the Certification Board. In recent years she has become more involved in the expansion of education to Contractors and end-users of irrigation systems. Karen’s passion in the industry is to see equipment used appropriately to eliminate waste, both water waste and financial waste.

Presented by the Cowichan Watershed Board in partnership with the Municipality of North Cowichan and Cowichan Valley Regional District.
