Event description
Weather-based installations are taking over the Gladstone Hotel at the annual Grow-Op Exhibition!

About this Event

In the age of “global weirding” Grow Op 2020 invites audiences to experience thought-provoking and awe-inspiring immersive installations that explore the themes of weather and climate through the lens of contemporary art.

Discussing the weather has long been a Canadian obsession, but the subject has taken on more urgency as the conversation about climate change gains international attention. How does weather affect our lives now? What changes will it bring in the future? How do we respond to the beauty and spectacle of weather, as well as its force and power?

You’re invited to engage in this important conversation through art at Grow Op 2020!

Grow Op is a four-day festival that transforms the hotel’s second floor with 20+ immersive installations that celebrate innovative ideas and conceptual responses to urbanism, environmental sustainability, landscape design through the lens of contemporary art.

Similar in format to the Gladstone Hotel’s iconic Come Up to My Room, all artists are present during the show. A great exploration for children and parents wanting to discuss the complex issues of climate change in a positive manner.
