Description

GROWING AGRI-FOOD BUSINESSES THROUGH INNOVATION

What is innovation? Get answers from agri-innovators in the Annapolis Valley.

Food in all its forms builds resilient regions. Join us as we explore how stakeholders in the Annapolis Valley can expand horizons, grow businesses – locally, nationally and globally – and support communities: all at the same time.

Register today for this free panel discussion at Wayfarers’ Ale Society in Port Williams during Devour! The Food Film Fest.

Following the 90-minute panel discussion, there will be an hour of networking at this riverfront brew-pub.

PANEL HOST: Ted Grant of GoodLeaf Farms

PANEL MEMBERS:

Patricia Bishop is a farmer, owner and textile innovator at TapRoot Farms.

Kirk Havercroft is CEO at Sustainable Blue: read their story here.

Mike Lightfoot is co-owner at Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards.

Andrew Rand is operations manager at Randsland Farms.

PRESENTER: Valley Regional Enterprise Network.

The Valley Regional Enterprise Network (Valley REN) is pleased to host a panel discussion led by Ted Grant, Chief Product Officer at GoodLeaf Farms. Ted will moderate a 90-minute discussion with agri-food business leaders in the Annapolis Valley who have unlocked growth opportunities through innovation. There will be an hour of networking and refreshments after the panel discussion.

This event will bring awareness and inspiration to Annapolis Valley businesses as they interact with and learn from international leaders in their respective fields.

The new global interest in food-related industries – production, gastronomy, hospitality, promotion and media – offers myriad opportunities for creative entrepreneurs to define new market opportunities and drive economic development in rural and urban markets. This moderated panel discussion will explore how the commercial agri-food sector can discover inspiration and innovation in the creative rural economy and vice versa. Businesses can also learn about government support for new ideas.

All regional stakeholders, agriculture and agri-food businesses, and interested parties are invited to take part in this event, free of charge.

Devour! The Food Film Fest will provide a festival shuttle service for attendees, with return rides from the Al Whittle Theatre in Wolfville to Wayfarers’ Ale Society in Port Williams.
